A.K.A Divina Yeyzy
Since I was a child, my life has been surrounded by the Mexican tradition of Curandismo. This tradition blends spiritual guidance, energy work, rituals, and prayer for life guidance and healing. Practitioners are called Curandero(a)s — Healers or Shamans. Growing up in this tradition meant that dreams were special; they were the whispers of our ancestors, angels, spiritual guides, and the universe. Children hold a special connection because they have not yet been fully domesticated by the rules of society. Those who continue on this journey and cultivate their Don — meaning “Gift” — are called Curanderos.
When I was old enough to walk and properly hold an egg, my mother taught me the sacred healing rituals of egg cleansing and prayer. I became fascinated with my personal experiences and wondered why other children at school weren’t having similar spiritual encounters. As soon as I learned to read in English, I began devouring everything I could on the spiritual, esoteric, and other religious practices.
When I was 13 (in 2003), my mother introduced me to the book Más Allá del Temor (Beyond Fear) by Don Miguel Ruiz and Mary Carroll Nelson. As I read it, everything began to align and make sense. That summer, my mother sent me on a spiritual journey to Teotihuacán with Rebecca Haywood and Don Miguel Ruiz Jr. She instructed me to learn everything, soak it in, and return to be the teacher — for her and for anyone willing to be brave and open-hearted. Thus, my journey as an apprentice in the Toltec tradition, in the lineage of Madre Sarita and her successor Rebecca Haywood, began.
The Nagual, or Shaman, is a bridge between the spiritual world and the physical world. Blessed to be surrounded by spirituality from an early age, I chose to walk the path of science alongside my spiritual path. I wanted to prove to myself that what I experienced spiritually was truth. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Environmental Sciences, followed by a Master’s in Public Health. I continue to work in this field even as I now serve those seeking spiritual guidance and healing. I truly believe we can do it all — that we can live the life we dream of — and I live my life as that bridge.
My journey with my teacher Rebecca has been one of reawakening and coming home. Through her loving embrace, wise words, and spiritual nurturing, she has shown me what it means to truly connect with the Divine Mother. Over the years, we have fortified my mind, body, and spirit into a channel of love, compassion, and wisdom — ready to share all that I am and all the sacred knowledge I carry with those who seek it.
We continue to work side by side as a circle of healing sisters, taking any seeker under our wings of love and light. Learn more about Rebecca https://www.rebeccahaywood.com
